1. Their website has a downloadable wine wheel to assist in pairing foods and wines. 
2. This winery is located in an Early American style log cabin built by hands of the owners with the help of their family and friends. 
3. Their first vines were planted before their household goods were even unpacked. 
4. Their winery ended up next door to their parents' winery, Lost Creek Vineyards and Winery. 
5. Its owners have created a distinct identity for their winery by focusing on their favorite varietals - Vidal Blanc and Chambourcin. 

Swedenburg Estate Vineyards Fun Facts

1. The son of the original owners, a graduate of Virginia Tech and a proud Hokie, carries on the family tradition today. 
2. It is one of the oldest vineyards in the state of Virginia and focuses on the production of European style wines. 
3. It has recently hired a new winemaker who studied Viticulture and Enology at California State University, while working at the campus winery. 
4. In 2005 the owner won a battle in the U.S. Supreme Court to tear down barriers that kept wineries from shipping directly to consumers in other states. 
5. Valley View Farm is the home of this winery and has been a working farm for over 240 years, raising crops, livestock, and premium vinifera grapes.
